Welcom to room 116 at Saint Stephen the Martyr School! SSM Music classes take place twice every full week of school. Lessons are designed in order to fulfill requirements set forth by the Omaha Archdiocese music curriculum, which is closely aligned with the National Standards for Arts. In addition to providing your child with a solid foundation in the discipline of music, we provide your child with opportunities to foster spiritual development, and cultivate each child’s sense of positive self-worth and value. Teamwork, and the ability to cooperate with others to create, rehearse, and perform original products; serves to help your child build a strong foundation for a set of skills that are directly applicable to real life situations. Your child’s ongoing moral development and growth in their Catholic identity will be supported through a variety musical experience. One of the program outcome requirements, set forth by the Omaha Archdiocese Curriculum, is that student’s experience music through performance. In fulfillment of that expectation, the following performance dates have been set, and comprise a portion of each student’s music grade. The students and I look forward to sharing the final product of our classwork work with you on the following dates: THE MIDDLE SCHOOL CONCERTTHURSDAY, JAN. 24th, 2013 AT 2:00 P.M AND 6:00 P.M. in the SSM school gym. THE 3rd, 4th, & 5th GRADE THURSDAY THURSDAY, APRIL 25th, 2012 AT 2:00 P.M. AND 6:00 P.M. in the SSM school gym. |
